About the 8th Grade Team
The Eighth Grade core team at Aspen Creek consists of four dedicated professionals with over 50 years of combined teaching experience and a total of 6 college degrees. We work together on a daily basis to meet the cognitive, emotional, physical, and social needs of our students.
In addition to the core team, we rely on the expertise of specialists, including elective teachers, special education teachers, counselors, and literacy teachers.
Our overriding team goal is to prepare all eighth graders to be successful in high school and beyond. To this end, we meet daily to set goals, discuss and implement strategies, and address specific needs of our students, our programs, and our school.
We recognize the importance of academic rigor in all subject areas, and we use a variety of tools to increase all students’ knowledge and improve their skills. These include flexible scheduling and grouping; differentiated instruction; use of educational technology; varied teaching and assessment methods; and articulation with other grade levels, including Broomfield High School. We also believe strongly in the value of curriculum integration and emphasizing critical skills throughout all content areas.
Finally, we like to emphasize the positive. We respect each other and our students, and we work to recognize and value our diverse perspectives and individual strengths. We focus on what each teacher and student does well while working together to learn and grow. We are all proud to be members of Aspen Creek’s Eighth Grade Team!
