We had an AMAZING time in New York! We left on Friday, May 14, 2010, and arrived in Times Square at 9:00pm. What an experience coming up from the subway and into Times Square! We gawked for several hours, then retired to The Muse Hotel, on 46th and Broadway.

Saturday, we ate at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and then proceeded to Wicked. WOW! It was an impressive cast, many of whom stuck around after the show to chat with the students.
On Sunday, we took the subway up to Central Park, where we wandered around soaking in the sites for a few hours. Next, we saw In the Heights, now starring Corbin Bleu (of High School Musical Fame), who was kind enough to offer the students a tour of the stage and who introduced the students to several other mutiple-Tony Award winning actors currently starring in the cast (many of whom are original cast members). Afterwards, we went to an upscale Italian restaurant, La Tratoria, who HOSTED the students for dinner!

On Monday, We took the Staten Island Ferry to get a close-up look at the Statue of Liberty. Next, we went to Ground Zero, where we picked up some books that detailed the events of that tragic day. Finally, we went to Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square before hailing a couple of cabs for a truly terrifying (and exhilarating) trip back to LaGuardia Airport, where we boarded the plane and returned to Colorado, forever changed by the experience!

To everyone who helped us make this dream a reality, please know that words would never suffice to explain what you did for us! We are in your debt and we will not ever forget how you helped us!
Sincerely,
Ms. J, Alex, Bajul, Angel, Adriana, Javier, Dulce, Daniel, and Soua
