Dear Broomfield Parents:
The month of May is here and the school year is quickly coming to a close. As we look forward to the last few weeks of school, I encourage you to help us keep our students focused and on task. Final projects and assessments are looming and I want our students to continue to do their best work with their academics. Students taking the AP tests have been preparing all year for these exams; I wish them the best as they are in the final stages of preparation.
In addition to many athletic and student-led activities being scheduled for May, I would like to focus your attention on a few other events that you will find enjoyable:
May 3, 4, and 5 POPS Concert at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium
(Come and enjoy the wonderful talents of our students)
May 8 Band Concert at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium
May 9 Spring Arts Show in the Front Lobby from 2-7 pm
(Details will be emailed later)
May 15 Orchestra Concert at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium
May 17 Senior Awards Night at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium
May 19 Graduation at 9:00 am at 1st Bank Center
May 22 Underclass Awards Assembly at 2:15 pm in the Auditorium
In a few short weeks, we will be saying “good-by” to the Class of 2012. It is now time for our senior Eagles to leave our nest and move on to experience new and exciting adventures. While we may be nervous about their departures, I am confident that the Class of 2012 will make a positive mark on the world. This time will be very busy for your families. I encourage you to take the time to reflect on all the events and accomplishments of the past four years. Take time to laugh and have fun. Your seniors will be gone so quickly and we will never have this special time again. Enjoy it!
While much of our time is currently focused on our seniors, we are also preparing for our next school year and welcoming the Class of 2016 to join our Broomfield family. Students have selected their course requests for next year and we will be diligently working to create a master schedule to meet the needs and requests of our students. If you have any questions/changes you would like with your student’s request, I ask that you do this with the Counseling Office prior to the end of the school year. It is much easier to make a change now before schedules are set.
To our incoming Class of 2016, I welcome you and invite you to join us on Monday, May 7 at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium for an evening of questions and answers about “Everything you wanted to know about Broomfield High School but were afraid to ask in fear of embarrassing your student!” Included in our conversation will be topics such as: attendance policy, dress code, behavior expectations, open campus, etc.
Students, we are nearing the end. Stay focused, study hard for your finals and finish this year strong. Use Tutor Time and Eagle Learning Center to get the extra help and support you need to accomplish your academic goals.
“It’s a Great Day to be an Eagle!”
