Welcome Back!
Class
policy: BHS -- We live it!
What that
means…
Be
responsible:
- Bring your workbook, a pen or pencil, white board
marker paper, and a notebook or folder to class every day.
- Keep track of your workbook all year (replacement
copies are $25).
- Textbooks for home use can be checked out, if you
wish.
- Consider getting a small dictionary.
- Turn in work on time.
- Do your make-up work within one week when you’re
absent. It will be listed on the north
board in class, as well as on my web site.
- Attend class every day.
- Be on time to class every day and in the room when
the bell rings…
- Take care of things like going to the restroom,
getting materials, etc. before class starts. You will only be able to leave the
classroom on a limited basis.
Honor
yourself and others:
- Show respect to the cultures we are studying, the
teacher, to other students, and to the property of others.
- Turn off and put away your musical devices and
cell phones.
- Clean up after yourself before you leave.
- Do your own work.
If I see or grade any copying, all students involved will receive a
grade of 0 on the work.
Strive
for excellence:
- The following grading scale will be used:
90-100% A 80-89% B 70-79% C 60-69% D
- Your grade is divided into three parts:
Practice
and Preparation – 15%: Daily assignments, warm up work, other small
assignments
Formative
Assessments – 35%: Quizzes, other written or oral work that is
collected and graded.
Summative
Assessments – 50%: Unit tests, oral quizzes, semester final
exams.
- Talk with me if you feel you could have done
better on an assessment. Re-takes
will be handled on an individual basis.
The final exam can’t be retaken.
- Ask for help when you need it! I’m available for help Pds. 4 & 7,
Tutor Time, and in the Eagle Learning Center.
