Dr. Haniford began her career in education as a language arts teacher. She then received her Masters of Education from Southern Illinois University and her Ph. D. from Saint Louis Educational Leadership. She enjoys hiking and is learning to ski the green slopes. Mrs. Haniford loves being at Centaurus because it is an Engineering Focus School, and an International Baccalaureate Focus School that provides an environment rich in academia. CHS also offers a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Our AP and Honors programs, Fine Arts and Practical Arts programs, University in Pre-Engineering programs, and exceptional extracurricular programs ensure that each of our students are prepared for a competitive future.

"In addition to our tradition of outstanding academics and superior athletics and activities programs, Centaurus continues to prepare young people to be gainful and giving in their community, locally and globally. Our vision is that upon graduation each student will be confident of his or her abilities to compete and thrive in a pluralistic world, be well informed about and prepared for post-high school choices, and be compassionate about others’ human condition. Our 226, 2006 graduates received over $1.5 million in scholarships; among these are student scholarships to Yale, John Hopkins, Harvey Mudd, the Naval Academy, Creighton, Embry-Riddle, and a plethora of state universities and colleges."
"AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), International Baccalaureate, and Pre-Engineering provide students the most rigorous courses in preparation for highly academic majors at the University level. Both AVID and Pre- Engineering classes are enhanced by partnerships with local universities and community mentors. The Engineering Partnership with the University of Colorado provides students the opportunity for guaranteed admission to the CU School of Engineering. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program provides students with the academic preparation to compete nationally and internationally."
"Our school’s enrollment is just over 1,000 students, ensuring a learning community that is large enough to offer an array of courses and programs, yet small enough to provide individual academic guidance and assistance. We begin our community building in 9th grade with our unique Freshman Seminar and LINKS mentoring program. To further personalization at CHS, this year we will implement an Advisory program for all sophomores."
