Teaching 3rd graders is such a joy.  They are full of enthusiasm and positive energy.  I look forward to a wonderful year with the children.

A little bit about me that you might find interesting: 
*  I was born and raised in northern Virginia and went to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. 
*  I taught in Virginia for 5 years and then overseas in Germany with the Department of Defense Dependent Schools for 4 years.  It was a wonderful experience that allowed me to travel and see some amazing countries throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia. I have been teaching at Coal Creek since 1999 as both a literacy teacher and a 3rd grade teacher. 
*My husband and I have been married since 1991 and have lived in Colorado since 1995.  I have one child, a son Zach, who is now a junior at Monarch High School and an adorable golden retriever named Bella.
*We love all that Colorado has to offer.  I especially love yoga, hiking, biking, snowshoeing/cross country skiing, gardening, decorating, reading, shopping, and movies. 

Now that you know more about me, let's talk about your child.  I truly believe that a parent who is involved in their child's education will make a huge impact on their future.  Children need to be supported, yet learn from their mistakes, they need encouragement as well as understanding when they have gone off track.  Know that I have your child's best interest at heart and will do my best to make sure that they have a valuable year.
