Welcome to Mrs. Gamblin's First Grade Class Website!
Hi. We are a dynamic first grade class at Coal Creek Elementary School in Louisville, Colorado. Join us here for announcements and updates on our activities. Please note that this website will evolve throughout the year. I'm very open to suggestions and ideas! 

A Bit About Me
My name is Jen Gamblin (Mrs. Gamblin to the students) and I'm so glad to be in my third year of teaching first grade here at Coal Creek. I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan (yes, there really is a Kalamazoo!), lived in DC for five years, then in Denver for 15 years before moving to Louisville five years ago. I have three kids myself (16, 30 and 33) ... and even three grandsons. My youngest goes to Monarch and my husband works in education as well, so we're a true Boulder Valley School District family.

Before earning my teaching certification in May 2009, I was a substitute teacher for five and a half years in both Denver Public Schools and BVSD. Before that, I worked in public relations and advocacy for a variety of national, regional and state nonprofit organizations. For example, I did PR for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Throughout it all, I’ve had a passion for children’s issues and education. I completed my Master’s in Educational Psychology at the University of Colorado at Denver last summer. I am enjoying working with your children this year in an exciting year of learning, growing, creating and becoming.
