From Mrs. Pope: 
I am the luckiest teacher in the school.  Classes full of children walk to my classroom door to make music!  (Well, this year I walk to them and I AM STILL THE LUCKIEST!)  With folksongs, popular songs and music of diverse cultures we make our way as we choose from endless rhythm and interpretation possibilities. While sharing music with children ages 5 through 10, I observe their growth, experience their joy then pledge to bring them more.

     Along the journey to my K-5 music specialty, I taught K-12 music and choirs in a rural Tennesse school, K-6 music in the Fort Collins Schools, K-2 music at Estes Park Elementary School and K-5 music in Westminster, Colorado.  I had a wonderful 3 years teaching piano lessons and cherish the time I had to teach children individually. However, I missed the music classroom too much so I came back! 

I was born in Huntsville, Alabama. I have lived in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. I have been in Colorado since 1986.  My husband, Scott, is employed by the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park and is also an artistic nature photographer.  We love to hike and photograph together. Our favorite places to travel are the northern and western isles of Scotland, especially Shetland, the most northern part of Scotland. At home I make braided rugs and I am learning to knit!
