8/8/11 - Letter from the Principal
Dear Community Montessori Parents,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter as the new principal of Community Montessori! I have been on the job for 3 weeks and already love it. I am coming from Boulder High School where I was an assistant principal for 3 years. I am married and have 4 boys-1 stepson (22 years), 1 adopted (21 years) and 2 by birth (7 and 10.) I love to work, however, when I can I like to hike, travel, cook and read.
I love to learn and this job is a perfect fit. I will not only be making a change from high school to elementary but learning about Montessori. I have already learned so much and cannot wait to continue my growth. My first year as a principal, I am going to listen, learn and observe. My leadership focus is always support-how do I support the teachers to facilitate the best learning for the students. I also want to partner with the parents to ensure that Community Montessori focuses on the children and their growth.
I have met with some parents already. I met with the PTA and room parents on July 26th and our new families on August 7th. I look forward to meeting all parents. Our next opportunity is Friday, August 12th at the Meet and Greet at 3 pm followed by the Watermelon Social at 4pm. At the Meet and Greet our Buzz Newsletter will be given out in a packet which will include information regarding start and end times and our parking procedures. If you want to see them ahead of time, they are on the website in the last edition of the Buzz. We will be hosting three coffees for New Parents at 8:15am-9:30am on the following dates: 8/19, 8/24 and 9/16.
To be working with amazing students, the best teachers and the most committed parents has always been a dream of mine. I am honored to be the principal of a school with a great history, wonderful present and bright future!
Respectfully,
Shannon Minch, Principal
