The goal of the Crest View Science Fair is to encourage interest in science , to encourage a feeling of accomplishment and pride in completing research projects and most importantly, to instill a genuine love of science and learning.
The Crest View Science Fair will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. All fourth and fifth grade students are required to participate as part of the science curriculum. Classroom teachers are responsible for reviewing the science fair packets with students, making sure that BVSD safety guidelines are followed and evaluating the projects.
Students in grades K-3 are encouraged to participate and present projects as well.
The Science Fair is an opportunity for students to present their research and projects. During the school day, volunteers interview each student to give them feedback and a chance to discuss their projects. In the evening, an open house, 6:00-8:00 pm, allows the school community to see the projects.
Science Fair packets are available in March from classroom teachers. The deadline for applications is March 15. Teachers must read and approve applications before spring break.
