Teaching Experience
I began working here at Crest View in 2000, while I was in graduate school studying Art History. I was the Native Language Tutor for two years, working in the English as a Second Language program. I also worked with monolingual Spanish speakers and their families as a tutor, translator, and interpreter. It was during this time that I decided it was my fate to be an educator! I quickly enrolled in a certification program at Regis and six months later I was student teaching in first grade at Crest View. This is my second year as part of the first grade team and we're having a ball!
Personal Note
A few of my favorite things
- Green chile (being the good Santa Fean that I am)
- Football (having family roots in Kansas City Chief fanaticism)
- Yoga (we all need to relax & breathe, right?)
- Anything Spanish (I may have been Latin in a former life)
- Art (Color!)
- Books (It happens when you grow up without a TV)
- Dancing (for obvious reasons)
- First Graders (They rock!)
