Welcome to Mrs. Vance's First Grade at Crest View Elementary.
Look here for information you need to stay updated on the activities in first grade in Mrs. Vance's class. You can also find documents and web sites you may need for your reference.


First grade is an exciting and critical year for your child, and I am excited to teach, learn, grow, challenge, and achieve with my first grade family. We will explore Mexico and Japan. We study balance and motion, plants and earth materials in science. We will also do several thematic and integrated units and mini-units based on literature.  These units strongly incorporate various subject matters, such as math, art, handwriting, and science. Again, welcome to first grade and I look forward to a fabulous year!

Reading
  • Daily reading
    Students should read the book in their book bag from reading group every night and parents need to sign the reading log. Please return the book bag every morning with your child.
Parent Journal
  • Parent Journal
    The Parent Journal will come home every Wednesday night. Parents should read the letter written in the journal and write a letter back on the back side of the page.
Return Items
  • Library Books
    Return library books on Monday
  • Friday Folders
    Friday folders come home Fridays. Please go through the folder and return the folder to school on Monday morning.
