 Early Years in Marcellus, NY

Born in upstate New York, in the 50's, I enjoyed the company of 4 sisters.  One is yet to be born in this photo.  I'm on the far right holding  on tightly to my position as "princess" of the family.  My parents managed to have 4 daughters within 5 years. Lots of matching outfits was the mode....it didn't however save me from wearing many hand-me-downs.  To this day, I love and adore my sisters.

 Professional Years

I completed my undergraduate and graduate work at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.  I majored in Biology and Geology and pursued a masters in secondary and elementary education.  My first teaching experience was in Cleveland, Ohio.  I taught middle school science for 3 years.  Next, I ventured to Sanibel Island, Florida where I taught grades 4-10 in a small private school.  I side tracked to Kona, Hawaii and taught preschool for 4 years and then made a final move to Boulder, Colorado.  Here, in Boulder I've spent the last 13 years at Douglass Elementary teaching 5th, 4th and now Kindergarten.  My love for children and their energy is unending.

 Just for Fun

When I'm not in Colorado,  I can usually be found on the beautiful St. Lawrence River in upstate NY.  My partner and I recently built a little cottage and are now in the process of adding on to the structure.  All of my sisters and my mother, summer at "the river" .  It is definitely my "home away from home"!
