Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrichment

Children
entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 30 of
the school year. Kindergarten is a half-day program, mornings (8:15 am
to 11:10 am) or afternoons (12:00 pm to 2:55 pm), five days a week. Visit our registration page for more information.
Foothill
Elementary also offers a fee-based program called Kindergarten
Enrichment for the other half of the day. Our Kindergarten and
Kindergarten Enrichment teachers coordinate their curriculum creating a
truly full-day kindergarten experience. Students are enrolled in
Kindergarten Enrichment on a first come/first served basis.Kindergarten Enrichment is a fee-based program that compliments our Kindergarten program. The
Kindergarten Open House is held in December for parents of children who will start
kindergarten the following August. At the Open House, parents will have
the opportunity to meet teachers, ask questions, and receive information
about registration. We will also have information available about
Kindergarten Enrichment, an optional fee-based enrichment program
complementing our half-day kindergarten, and about the YMCA's before and
after-school care program for all grades. This event is an opportunity
for parents to learn about our school, and is an adult only event.

The Kindergarten Orientation is a fun opportunity for incoming kindergarteners and their parents to meet teachers and explore the kindergarten rooms. This event traditionally takes place in April for children entering kindergarten the following fall.

Each
summer parent volunteers organize playgroups for students entering
kindergarten in the fall. These get-togethers are held in Foothill's
kindergarten playground area and provide a chance for children to make
friends with their classmates before the first day of school. Typically,
there is one playgroup each summer month.
