I hope all of you are having a pleasant beginning to your year.  The class is wonderful and I see that we are going to have a good year.  It is sometimes difficult to for students to adjust to schedules, working, sitting, talking at certain times.  With the open space especially, I try to make expectations clear from the beginning and be very consistent.  It is a transition and we try to work on this in terms of respect for others. We finished our Lessons from the Geese last week where we talked about how geese work together as a team to help each other reach their goals and care for one another.  Students wrote about ways they could work together in our class and school setting, to support one another.  Respect is our primary character trait and leads to the success of everyone.  I am seein many examples of this trait in our classroom.
