Awards & Recognitions

• Wendy Thoresen was selected as one of 14 Colorado elementary-level teachers to join TEA (The Program for Teaching East Asia) on a study tour to Japan, June 12-July 10, 2008. The tour, entitled Texts and Contexts: Japan through Children’s Literature, is an opportunity for elementary educators to engage in experiential and in-depth study of Japan and its culture.
• Jessica Feld was awarded an all-expense paid trip for 10 days to Honduras with Heifer International. There will be 18 other educators from around the United States on this Tour where participants will learn about what Heifer is doing in Honduras to help end world hunger.
• John R Irwin School of Excellence – repeated winner for student academic achievement
