Administration

	Lora de la Cruz- Principal I am honored to be the principal of High Peaks. My 17 year educational career includes experience in the classroom, literacy intervention work, serving as a Talented and Gifted teacher, and most recently, an assistant principal. I am passionate about meeting the needs of all students. Having lived and traveled in many places throughout the US and world, and I bring a high valuing of many perspectives and cultures into my work with teachers, students and families. I love spending time with my family, reading, writing, and hiking in the fresh mountain air any chance I get.
	Michele Leffler - Principal's Assistant I have been with High Peaks for 6 years and can honestly say that I love my job as much as I did the first day I started! I moved to Colorado from Pittsburgh, lived in Kansas for 14 years and moved back to this beautiful state. I have 2 grown children, 2 horses and a standard poodle. My hobbies include horseback riding, cooking, spending time with my children & friends and travelling.
	Lisa Gefke - Registrar Lisa Gefke is the nicest Rhodes Scholar you will ever meet. She received this outstanding scholarship after relinquishing her title as Miss America, enabling her to pursue academic interests. Upon her completion of medical school, she discovered that she hated medicine but loved running the billing office. She adores organizing the world but hates having you touch her desk. She’s also a big believer in both the concepts of punctuality and no whining – so be on time and don’t make excuses.
	Denette Laufmann - Support Secretary It is a pleasure and privilege to join the wonderful team that serves the High Peaks community in the school office! My husband and I moved to Colorado from Washington State 23 years ago, and we have three grown daughters who thrived in the Boulder Valley school system. My life is centered by my faith, family and friends, and enhanced with travel, gardening, reading and a variety of creative projects that come my way. The 13 years I have worked in the school district have always been interesting and fun, and I look forward to the new adventures that await at High Peaks!
