About Our School
School Mission and Vision
The mission of the Boulder Valley School District is to create challenging, meaningful and engaging learning opportunities so that all children thrive and are prepared for successful, civically engaged lives.
We develop our children’s greatest abilities and make possible the discovery and pursuit of their dreams, which when fulfilled will benefit us all. We provide a comprehensive and innovative approach to education and graduate successful, curious lifelong learners who confidently confront the great challenges of their time.
Points of Pride
• We take pride in our students’ strong academic performance and pride they display towards their school.  Our exceptional staff focuses on the whole child.
• Our school climate scores are one of the best in our district according to the BVSD Climate Surveys, showing a positive pattern over time.
• LES embraces family and community engagement.  Parents and community members are key contributors to the work that goes on at the school each day.
• LES is one of 34 schools in the nation designated by Eco-Cycle as a Green Star School.  We focus our efforts on sustainability within our community.

This spring, Superintendent Messinger intends to recommend to the Boulder Valley Board of Education that the Eagle Place neighborhood and future Blue Sage development which currently are designated to attend Louisville Elementary, Louisville Middle and Monarch High be reassigned to the attendance areas of Ryan Elementary, Angevine Middle and Centaurus High schools. This reassignment would allow Lafayette residents to attend a nearby school in their own community and would provide relief related to enrollment growth at Louisville Elementary.
