Welcome back to LES!

We’ve had a smooth start to the 2012-13 school year. Students have been engaged in some fun learning and team building activities to start off the school year. In preschool, students experimented with Water Tables outside and learned about working together.
In Kindergarten, the teachers dressed up as pirates and took students on a Treasure Hunt around the school to learn about LES.
First graders played Juice Pop Bingo and had an outdoor Social together. In second grade, students created class names and corresponding class flags to learn about symbolism.
Our second grade classes are the Lollipops because the students said they are sweet kids,
the Sharks because they are fierce, the Wolves because they work together in a pack,
and the Snow Leopards because they are strong. In third grade, students created self-portrait clues for their parents to guess who is who at Back-to-School-Night, along with a classic writing activity, “It’s Been a Short Summer.” In fourth grade, students created a newspaper entitled, “All About Me.” To close out the top of the grades, fifth grade students assembled and shared their ARFF posters, representing their Achievements, and their thoughts on Respect, Fun, and Freedom. LES students are starting out the year thriving as a
community of learners!
