Middle School Athletic Opportunities

Registration packets are linked below as well as in the main office. Registration for each sport is done separately (including payment) and must be turned in no later than the 1st day of the athlete's participation. An athlete can sign up after the start date, but we encourage registration to happen within 1 week of the start date so that our coach to athlete ratio is appropriately established at the beginning of the season. If a student is interested in more than 1 sport we can copy the original registration form for subsequent sports if you so choose.

Interscholastic Sports

(8th graders only; unless listed otherwise - see offerings below)

Provides a transition between the intramural programs and the more competitive high school program, with continued emphasis on participation and enjoyment of physical activity while allowing increased attention to coaching and skill development, with five to eight contests with other schools throughout the dates listed below.

Registration Fee $85.00 per sport

2. Current Physical (within 365 days)
3. Fee ($85) If in need of a scholarship, please see the front office.

HEAD COACH

Practice begins on Sept. 21st from 3:30pm until 4:30pm. All other practices during the season go until 5:00pm, Mon-Fri. unless there is a game

8th Boys Basketball October 28th – December 15th Eric Jahn, Brian Slobe, Scott Reiley

6th, 7th, 8th Wrestling January 5th – February 13th Eric Jahn

8th Girls Volleyball January 31st – March 7th Manny Garcia

6th, 7th, 8th Track April 13th – May 18th Eric Jahn, Scott Reiley

Schedules are determined based on participation numbers from each school in the district. Therefore, game schedules are not determined until 1 week after practice has begun. Practice schedules, games schedules, expectations, and other information are passed out to the athletes by the coach. Please look for these from your student.

All competitions begin at 4 pm & are not to last past 6 pm (track & wrestling may have exceptions to these times). Students have transportation to & from their competitions and are encouraged to stay together as a team until their return to Monarch K8. If not utilizing the return transportion to Monarch K8, athletes are only to ride with thier own family members & must be approved by the coach.

Uniforms will be provided by BVSD & Monarch K8. Each athlete is expected to care for the uniform and is responsible to return the uniform in the same relative condition. Failure to do so or not return the uniform entirely will result in at least a fine.

 

Intramurals

(6th & 7th graders only; unless listed otherwise - see offerings below)

Focus on participation and enjoyment in activities which take place primarily within the building. This is perfect for anyone interested in getting involved regardless of experience. Participants will learn all aspects of the game - experience is not necessary - and will compete in a culminating event on the last date of the season.

 

Registration Fee $45.00 per sport

Practice is Monday - Thursday 3:30 - 4:30. The culminating activity will be on October 17th at a site not yet determined.

6th/7th Girls Basketball January 6th – January 27th

6th/7th/8th Boys Soccer March 1st – March 21st

6th/7th Girls Volleyball March 12th – April 11th
