 Announcements

Parent/Teacher Conferences for the second half of the year are scheduled for Tuesday, January 24th and Thursday, January 26th from 4:20 - 8:00 P.M.  Students will attend school all day on those days.  At this time, it is not necessary to meet with all parents, as we have been conferencing with many of you as needed, or by phone.  We will be sending out a few conference requests to some parents whom we have not seen or feel that it is vital to meet.

The conferences are set up at twenty minute intervals, and you will be meeting with the entire team.  Should you have a concern about one particular topic and need to speak with that teacher only, please contact that teacher to speak with him/her and possibly set up another time to meet.

You will receive a letter soon only if we request a conference.

Oceans 1 Trip:  Preparations are being made and permissions slips are going out this week.  Please refer to the Handout section (in the Oceans 1 Permission Packets folder) for the permission packet (containing BVSD & Oceans 1 packets and a letter to parents and students) that your student will be bringing home.

7th Grade Field Trip:

On Thursday evening, October 6, John Mattson and the 7th grade team met with parents to discuss the 7th Grade Oceans 1 Field Trip to California.

If you missed the meeting, you can watch the PowerPoint located in the Handouts section on this page.

If you have any questions, please email John Mattson at john.mattson@bvsd.org.

Geography
Welcome to World Geography! We will continue our trip around the world this year to Europe, Asia, Afirca and the Mideast.  Be prepared for lots of maps and interesting, fun projects. It is important to be prepared. The list of supplies should have included:
   COLORED PENCILS
Sharp (fine-tipped) PENS (blue, black AND red: all 3!)
   ATLAS (for sale at school)
All these are extremely necessary throughout the year. Please call if you have any questions. And please check the calendar for homework. Be sure to click on "Geography" to see the details of the assignments. Note that there are two assignments for the first week!
I'm looking forward to a great year!
