At Ryan, we believe that together our staff makes a difference for students and our community. The Ryan STEAM School staff of dedicated professionals are honored with the time it takes to do the collaboration and data analysis needed to meaningfully guide learning and instruction. This year, our staff professional development goals include building a knowledge base for the full complement of technology installed in every classroom to support learning and instruction. Our teachers will engage in a Learning Pathway to help them embrace the technology that supports that instruction. The technology and support comes from a generous grant from the Morgride Family Foundation. PD will also focus on literacy, math, and science goals directly linked to the School Improvement Plan, which is driven by assessment data, and the SMART goals developed as part of our STEAM visioning sessions.
Our staff believes that experiential, hand-on, and small group instruction are keys to student success. Therefore, we partner with organizations, like the University of Colorado and Thorne Ecological Institute, to support our teachers with the resources to make the curriculum meaningful, relevant, engaging, and accessible for every student, every day.
Ryan Elementary STEAM School is committed to providing extended-day learning opportunities to enrich our students application of the essential skills learned in the classroom to project-based fun. We partner with many community organizations, like Thorne Ecological Institute and the University of Colorado at Boulder, so that our students see the relevance of the lessons they learn.
Our Parent and Teacher Community Partnership is one of the many things that make Ryan a very special place to learn, to grow, and to contribute together. Our work would not be possible without the dedication and commitment from our staff, parents, and community working together for the benefit of our students. Our PTA welcomes you and encourages you to partner with them to continue to make Ryan an unforgettable positive introduction to learning and community. Please contact Melissa Kattenhorn, PTA president, for more information. Their website is located at the Ryan Community Partnership.
