Math
The students just took their final geometry and measurement assessment. If your child did not receive at least an 80% (the equivalent of a B or a 3 on his/her report card), I will allow him/her to retake a similar assessment the last week of school.
The students will also take their final Galileo assessment this week. The final Galileo assessment covers material learned throughout the entire year. Please make sure to review multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percents, and graphing with your child at home. We will be doing lots of review in class as well.
Reading/Writing
In reading and writing, we are studying poetry. We are reading and examining many different types of poems as a class, and the children are also exploring poetry on their own in books and online.
Each student is also compiling a poetry book. The book will consist of four poems he/she has written during the unit, as well as four poems he/she has read that has resonated with him/her. Look for these books to be sent home next Wednesday, May 25.
