Welcome to Summit Middle School

Congratulations to Summit on these awards!

Summit received the John Irwin Schools of Excellence Award for 2013!  The John Irwin awards are given by the state of Colorado to schools that demonstrate excellent academic achievement. On the 3-year school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools “exceed” expectations on the academic achievement indicator.

Summit Middle School is named as a 2012 Blue Ribbon School!  U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan has recognized 269 schools, including Summit, as 2012 National Blue Ribbon Schools for their overall academic excellence or for making progress in improving student academic achievement levels.

Summit Middle School is named “Middle School of Distinction” by 5280 Magazine! Congratulations staff and students!  Summit is one of 18 public middle schools in the metro area to be recognized based on high growth scores on the state assessment.

Congratulations to Summit teacher Sara Thompson!  Ms. Thompson was named the National History Day in Colorado Teacher of the Year, Junior Level at the State History Day competition on May 3rd, 2014.
