Volunteering at Summit -
New BVSD and Summit Volunteer Procedures
Summit Middle School is a community of parents, staff and students who strive for academic achievement, social inclusion and personal growth. As a parent volunteer, you become part of a team that makes Summit a great place to learn and grow. Boulder Valley School District requires background checks for all individuals wishing to volunteer in BVSD schools, including Summit.
If you are an occasional (once or twice a year) volunteer and have minimal contact with students, you will need to read the Volunteer Letter and fill out the Volunteer Agreement (even if you’ve filled it out at another school) and return the agreement to the Summit office.
If you volunteer on a regular basis, and/or have student contact, you will also need to complete the above step and then visit www.tclogiq.com/bvsdfcv for a more in-depth background screening. There is a $16.00 fee that is paid at the end of submission.
If you volunteer to drive (for example, for a field trip), you would need to complete an additional motor vehicle background screening portion at the above link and the cost is $22.50 (this includes the background screening as well).
If you have completed either of these online background screenings for another BVSD school, you can just email or copy the receipt for the Summit office. Please be aware that at this point, this is an annual background clearance. It takes approximately 48-72 hours for background checks to clear through the system. If you have any questions, please contact the Summit Office at summit.office@bvsd.org or 720-561-3900. As always, if you need financial assistance, please contact Summit’s Business Manager at 720-561-3925.
We look forward to having you volunteer at Summit!
