Full-Day Kindergarten

Uni Hill was one of the first BVSD schools to offer full-day kindergarten beginning in 2008. Research indicates that children who participate in full-day kindergarten programs may demonstrate gains in literacy, math, general learning, and social skills.

In our dual language program, full-day kindergarten provides children with “time and opportunity to play with language". In addition, students explore subjects in depth and participate in more individual and small-group interaction times with the teacher than is possible in half-day classrooms.

For parents, full-day kindergarten may mean reduced childcare costs, less difficulty scheduling childcare and transportation and increased opportunities to get involved in their children's classroom, as well as to communicate with the teacher.
