Years as an Educator in others schools: Before Ryan, I worked far away from my Louisville home, in Jefferson County and in Aurora, as a School Psychologist. For many years, I was also the state-wide Clinical Director of a company providing correctional services to adults. I maintain a private practice, mostly working with mothers in the corrections system and writing. I wrote the Parenting curriculum currently used by the Colorado Department of Corrections.
University/colleges attended and degrees conferred: I graduated from the University of Denver with a Doctorate in Psychology- Child Clinical Specialty. I received my undergraduate degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
Personal Teaching Philosophy: I am very interested in helping bring out the unique traits of each child, and helping them overcome their struggles. I like to use both art materials and technology to inspire the best in each student. I am also very interested in the “culture” or social environment of a school, and in 2007, I am helping to implement a school-wide communication/conflict resolution program at Ryan.
Hobbies/interests/and Personal Info: My spouse and I have two young sons who keep us very busy. We have an art studio in our home, three dogs, and lots of sports equipment. I love to watch movies, woodwork, ski, and travel (I lived in Eastern Europe for awhile).
