Janet Stellema - Math/Science Coordinator
At Ryan since: 2005
Other related work experience: Upward Bound academic year tutor, summer
science lab teacher at Colorado State University, teacher researcher at NREL,
wildland firefighter
Experience at what grade levels: 20 years of teaching experience
including outside the Boulder Valley School District, Louisville Middle,
Monarch K-8, and as Elementary Science Coordinator for the district.
Schools attended: BS in Forestry and Natural Resources and a
second major in Biological Sciences from Colorado State University.
Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Colorado Boulder
Favorite thing about working at Ryan: How everyone made me feel welcome
A goal for the year: To get a great math/science focus established so
that our students are excited about math and science and see it apply to their
everyday lives in meaningful ways because “math and science at Ryan ROCKS!”
An interesting tidbit that you want to share: I live in a yurt during
the summers, I SCUBA dive, quilt, and love to snowboard!
