Personal Teaching Philosophy: I believe that every student can learn. I
believe that every student should have an opportunity to grow and be challenged
to learn at his/her greatest potential but also begin where he/she already is in
the learning spectrum. I believe that students need to be loved and accepted and
have an environment of trust in order to learn. I love seeing children grow
and learn and become life-time learners.
Hobbies, interests, personal info: I love hanging out with my
family. I have a wonderful supportive husband, and 2 great boys: a 6th
grader and a 2nd grader. My husband, Andrew and I love to
travel. I have been to Honduras, Peru, England, Scotland, France, Spain, and
Kenya. Andrew directs a non-profit organization called
the 10/10 project that is
working to break the cycle of poverty around the world. It is focused in Kenya,
Africa. My family spent 4 weeks in Africa to do research and make connections
to start this organization in the summer of 2003. I have lived in Colorado for
8 years and really enjoy the life-style of living here such as hiking and
skiing. I have climbed about 8 fourteeners. One of my favorite pastimes and
anxiety outlets is running. I also love to read a good book. The best way to
enjoy a book is to relax with a cup of hot chai. I am a life-time learner
myself which I hope to instill in my students and my own children. I look
forward to the opportunity to learn and grow whenever I have the chance.
