Years at Ryan: I started teaching at Ryan in 1983.
Experience: I have been teaching 24 years. My first year was at the old
Angevine Middle School. I also taught for a year in England as part of a
Fulbright Teacher Exchange program. All of my years of teaching have been in
the fifth grade.
Schools Attended/Educational Background: I graduated from Colorado
University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. In 1991 I earned
a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado University.
Working and having fun at Ryan: I enjoy the wide variety of students
and adults that make up the Ryan community. I really like being able to work
with families that I have known for a long time and I look forward to seeing
all the great things my former students will accomplish in the future.
Goal for the year: This year I hope my “imagination makers” will learn
and have fun with all of the creative opportunities which will be given to
them. I’m looking forward to another great Civil War Reenactment and trip to
the mountains. I also hope I can figure out how to get more sleep every night!
“Interesting” things about me: After my year teaching in England, I
have taken several trips to Europe. This last summer I visited Venice, Berlin,
and different parts of England. Art, music, photography and disc golf are
great interests for me. I live in Boulder and am lucky to have four siblings
and six nieces and nephews.
