I am the oldest of four children. Growing up, my family moved around a bit.  I have lived in Seattle Washington, Pennsylvainia, Ireland, and California.  California is where I spent most of my childhood.  My family lives in a small town called Scotts Valley in the Santa Cruz mountains.  We love to go back whenever we can.  I went to Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo where I received a B.S. in Psychology and Human Development with a  concentration in Early Childhood Development.  Then I went to San Jose state University  where I received my teaching credential.  I taught kindergarten and first grade in San Jose. I also went back to school to get my Masters in Teaching.  I have been teaching for 12 years.

My husband and I moved our two little boys and our black Labrador, Tule to Colorado 2 years ago.  We are a family who love to be outdoors. We fell in love with the open spaces and the mountains.  We enjoy fishing, hiking , camping, biking and skiing.  We are an active family and I can’t think of a better place to raise a family than right here!

I love teaching first grade!  It is a special year full of new discoveries. Your children begin to see themselves as readers, writers, and navigators of learning.  It is such an enlightening year.  I love being a part of it.

My oldest son James will be a kindergartner soon.  I am so excited to be on both sides of the education system- as a teacher and as a parent.
