I am proud to say that I have been teaching at Superior Elementary since its opening year in 1996! Prior to teaching at Superior Elementary, I taught at Ryan Elementary and Creekside Elementary in Boulder Valley School District. In my teaching career, I have taught first, second, and third grades, and Title I reading. My favorite part of teaching is helping students learn how to read and watching them become absorbed in a particular book. I graduated with my Master’s degree in Literacy from the University of Colorado in 1996. I truly enjoy teaching at such a great school with motivated teachers, students, and families. This is an amazing place for kids to grow and learn!

I am a fourth generation Colorado native and am proud to display Pioneer license plates on my car. I grew up in Golden, not too far from Superior! I have been married since 1993, and my family and I live in Louisville. My husband, Arlie, is a former scientist at NCAR and is now a high school teacher in Jefferson County. He is also working on his PhD in Education at Colorado State University. We have a son, Ethan, who loves being a student at Superior. In 2005, our family adopted a greyhound named Page. Her name reflects our love of reading. In my free time (which mostly occurs in the summer), I love to hang out with my family, read, run with my dog, garden, and cook!
