Behavior Chart

Each child starts the day with a yellow happy face. In the event that a student does not follow the rules of our “classroom constitution”, there are 3 levels of consequences. After the first offense, he/she is asked to change his/her card from a yellow happy face to a blue “straight” faced card. This is a warning to the child that the behavior needs to improve or change. If the child continues to disrupt or act inappropriately, then the card will be changed to a green “sad” face. This means that he/she will loose the next recess to process the behavior and write a letter of action. In the unlikely event the behavior continues, then the card will be changed to a red “angry” face card. This means the child will call a parent or guardian to explain what happened and what he/she will do differently. Each day the child is given the opportunity to start fresh and begin on a yellow day. Ask your child each day what color card he/she had at the end of the day. If we have repeat offenders, parents will be informed and we will likely set up a behavior modification plan that is monitored daily and involves parent support at home.
