I am a former Rock Creek resident and a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia.
I received my BS in Psychology and educator license from the University of
Colorado in 1991. Prior to that, I attended the University of Denver on a
full gymnastics scholarship for 2 years. During my tenure at CU, I was the
captain of the cheerleading squad for football, men’s and women’s basketball,
and volleyball. It was very exciting to cheer for the team when they won the
1991 National Championship football game in the Orange Bowl.
I began my career with Boulder Valley School District in 1991.
My first 5 years were teaching 1st grade (1 year) and 2nd grade
(4 years) at Heatherwood Elementary School. In 1996, I transferred
to Superior, where I was fortunate to be part of the original planning committee.
We helped order all the learning materials, from books to globes and desks to computers. In 2006, I received my Master’s Degree in Instruction and Curriculum.
I am happily married to my husband, Jeff Cantrell, whom I met in college
(he was a CU football player). We are the proud parents of 3 sons, Avery,
Connor, and Braden. We have a black Newfoundland dog named Bentley.
He will weigh around 160 pounds when he is full grown! I enjoy the outdoors,
cooking, entertaining, movies, music, and of course watching CU sporting events,
especially football. GO BUFFS!!!
