Mrs. Erikka Gallegos
I was born in Michigan, but have lived in Boulder County for most of my life. After graduating from Boulder High School, I moved up the hill to the University of Colorado. There I received a B.A. in Psychology, my teaching certificate, and a Masters in Literacy. Ever since I was young, I’ve wanted to be a teacher. In college, I taught preschool to 4 and 5 year-olds at Boulder Day Nursery. I’ve also taught grades 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Westminster, and kindergarten at Coal Creek Elementary in Louisville. Working with kids and helping them to learn and grow is an absolute passion of mine! It’s very exciting to watch children change tremendously during the course of a year.
My husband, Patrick, and I met at CU. He, too, grew up in Colorado, so between us we are quite fortunate to have LOTS of family in the area. We have two wonderful daughters. Our oldest, Emily, is 6 and very artistic. Our younger one, Sara, is 4 and is our social butterfly. They share an exceptionally close bond as sisters and spend lots of time having adventures together. We also have a sweet, gentle tabby cat named Abbie. As a family, we enjoy being in the outdoors, whether it’s for a hike, a bike ride, or a walk along the beautiful paths throughout Superior. While we love living in Colorado, we adore the beach, so we look forward to taking a family vacation there each summer.
