Mrs. Katie Graf

I was born and raised in Michigan, and I met my husband on my first day of college at Michigan State University.  We were married shortly after we graduated, and we moved to Georgia.  I taught 5th grade there for two years and knew, without a doubt, that teaching was the right profession for me.  Next, we moved to Indiana so that my husband, Peter, could continue his education at Purdue University.  While living there, I taught 2nd grade and 6th grade.  I also coached volleyball and cheerleading. 

My husband graduated from Purdue, and we moved to California and started our family.  I took a few years off from teaching to enjoy raising our two boys, Ryan and Sean, by the ocean.  I went back to teaching when my youngest son went into first grade.  I taught 2nd grade for eight years in Manhattan Beach.

In July of 2006 we moved to Boulder, Colorado.   Peter got a job at Ball
Aerospace, and I was fortunate to get a temporary position teaching 5th grade at Superior.  I am now teaching in a permanent position in 2nd grade, and I love it.

My oldest son, Ryan, goes to the University of California in Santa Barbara.  My youngest son, Sean, is in high school in Boulder.  Our beloved yellow Labrador, Dakota, easily made the transition from ocean dog to mountain dog. 

I enjoy attending sports games, especially ones my sons play in.  I look forward to my daily walks with Dakota in the mountains.  When I have any free time, I like to read, listen to music, and watch movies.
