Mr. Perler
I had a verrry busy summer, filled with fun activities. I spent a lot of time with friends and family (and my dog, Kiva), mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking and going to fun places, movies, etc.. I also played guitar A LOT and spent a lot of time getting ready for this exciting new school year!!! I have been trying to sell my house, so cleaning and repairs have taken much of my summer as well. This summer was, for the most part, very relaxing for me! I am enormously grateful to be here at Superior Elementary, and look forward to getting to know the community!
I grew up in Columbus, OH, where I spent 17 years. I went to a Hebrew school from K-8, where I learned all about my Jewish culture. I moved to Indianapolis, IN and went to college at Indiana University where my love for learning flourished. I later received my Masters in Gifted Education from University of Northern Colorado.
I then went to live on the Navajo Indian Reservation for a couple of years to teach (in Arizona and New Mexico). One of my favorite things to learn about and experience is different cultures and different people. I love to find out what people are all about and why! It is one of the most fascinating things in the world to me.
I also love science and nature. I love to learn about animals, their behavior, etc. I love to learn about rocks, maps, biology, chemistry, psychology, and much more!
You can often find me playing my many guitars (sometimes around town!), reading about guitar, learning new songs or playing with other musicians. This is truly one of my favorite things in the world. I love to create, and creating music is pure magic.
