When I graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, I went on a road trip west with a sorority sister. I ended up in Boulder, CO, and I never moved back. I love living in Colorado!

I never stop learning. I began with a BA in Psychology and Political Science, with minors in Mathematics and Criminal Justice, earned a Colorado Teaching License from Denver Metro State College, and recently I completed two masters from the University of Colorado: Curriculum and Instruction with a Colorado K-12 Literacy Endorsement and Multicultural Bilingual Education with English as a Second Language Endorsement.

I began my career with Boulder Valley School District in 1995. My first year, I taught 1st/2nd grade at Louisville Elementary. The year Superior Elementary opened, I was hired as a 1st grade teacher. In 2002 I began teaching 4th grade. I love both ages. Superior is a nice community to work in.

I am happily married to Mike. We are the proud parents of two sons, Chapin and Eliott. Chapin attends Denver Metro State College; he is a jeweler (goldsmith). Eliott is at University of Northern Colorado, Greeley; he will join the military when he graduates. We have 2 cats and regularly have kittens; we serve as foster care parents for the Boulder Humane Society. My family enjoys the outdoors, camping, hiking and biking. My husband can regularly be found in a stream fly-fishing, with me nearby reading a book.
