I am originally from Michigan. I graduated in 1999 with a B.A. from Hobart College in Geneva, New York. After graduation, I moved around a bit, living first in San Francisco, then in Providence, RI, and finally in Winthrop, MA. When I moved east, I began substitute teaching in New Bedford, MA. It didn’t take me long to realize that nothing would make me happier than to devote myself to a career in education. I subsequently received my certification in Massachusetts and secured a job outside Boston where, for two enjoyable years, I taught a third grade classroom.
My wife’s appointment as a professor at CU led to our relocation to Boulder in the summer of 2005. That fall I enrolled in CU’s teacher certification program in order to obtain my Colorado license. I completed the program last December, and spent the spring substitute teaching in BVSD, spending the last two months in a kindergarten classroom.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing golf, playing hockey,
reading, and cheering on the Detroit sports teams. I also love spending time with my wife Jennifer and our three feline friends.
I am thrilled to join the Superior community. I am looking forward to a successful year.
