As a native of Louisiana, I often have to answer the question, “Where are you from?”. After living in Colorado for many years, I still wonder why people ask me that!

Just kidding, I have a distinct accent and revel in the fact that I am a true Southern girl at heart. I think a Cajun word best describes my way of teaching and living… Lagniappe… meaning ”a little something extra”.

I graduated from Louisiana Tech with a BA and MA+48 in Elementary Education. I have logged hours and hours of postgraduate work. I taught 5th grade in Louisiana for seven years. I have been teaching 4th Grade at SES since it opened in 1996! . I especially enjoy attending and presenting at science conferences and learning from my students. We are so lucky to teach at such an exciting and progressive school.

I am married to my best friend, Ronny, and we have two children. Casey, our son, lives in Nashville, TN. Our daughter Karla and her husband Jeremy live in Broomfield. We also have a cat, Bungee, and a dog, Wrigley, a cairn terrier like Toto. We make several trips to Louisiana each year to visit our families. Ronny and I like to watch the Rockies play, enjoy NFL games, and listening to music. We are still exploring this beautiful state that we now call home.
