I am a Colorado native. I graduated from Wheat Ridge High School. I only spent one year in Seattle, Washington, before decided to return to beautiful, SUNNY Colorado. I enrolled at CU-Boulder, and I have been in the Boulder area ever since.
I met my husband, Brian, at CU. We were married in 1994. While at CU, I earned a BA in Biology along with a teaching certificate in 1995. I returned to CU for my Masters degree in Education (emphasis in literacy) which I earned in 1999. During this time, I was teaching in Westminster, Colorado. I taught first and second grades (I looped with the same kids from first to second grade). Later I became a 3rd grade literacy tutor for some of the same kids I taught.
Brian and I have 3 children; Madison, Brie, and AJ. We have lived in Rock Creek since 2000 – so we might just see you at the park. We love downhill skiing – it is a sport for the whole family – including grandparents.
 I returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher in 2006.As a substitute, I had the opportunities to work long term during two maternity leaves. I taught 3rd grade from February – May one year, and 2nd grade from March – May the next year. Both long term assignments were at Superior Elementary! This is a wonderful community and I have been so fortunate to work with many wonderful and talented staff members.
In my “free” time I enjoy photography, scrapbooking, skiing, and swimming. In fact we spend our summers cheering for the kids on the Rock Creek Flyers Swim Team – Go Flyers!
