Q. What do I need to register a new student?
A. Requirements are:
- Proof of birth date: To be admitted to kindergarten in BVSD, a child must reach his or her fifth birthday on or before Sept. 30. For admission to first grade, the child must reach his or her sixth birthday on or before Sept. 30.
- Record of updated immunizations
- Proof of residency, which may include utility bills, lease agreements, or a house contract.

Q. When are the registration / orientation meetings?A. Mid- to late-January.
Q. When are the registration deadlines?
A. Usually the end of January.
Q. School starts at 8:00 . When can I drop my student off?
A. Students may arrive beginning at 7:45. They go to the playground until the bell rings at 7:55. They are expected to be in their classroom seats by 8:00am.
Q. Is before or after school care available?
A. Yes:
Kindergarten Care (K-Care)
K-CARE is a BVSD fee-based, licensed, on-site childcare program offering an extended day experience for Kindergarteners. Inquire at the front office or click here.School Age Program (SAC)
Before and after school programs, and summer day camps for K - 5th grade children. Check it out! Note: SAC is provided by the YMCA at SES. You can also check with the office or call 303-554-1470.
Q. How can I find out about required school supplies?

Q. What extra-curricular activities are available?
A. Many activities, such as intramurals, choir, talent show, Spanish classes and student council are available. The YMCA (303-554-1470) also offers many opportunities to participate in sports.
