I was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, but grew up mostly here in Colorado! I went to elementary school in Longmont, and after a few brief years in Casper, Wyoming, returned to Boulder for grades 8-12 at Centennial Jr. High and Boulder High School.
Attending CU Boulder, I earned a B.A. in Psychology, a teaching certificate, and a Masters in Literacy. It has always been my passion to teach! There’s something about helping young children to have a love for learning, as well as helping them to unlock the magic of learning to read and write, that I have always deeply enjoyed being a part of. Over the years, I’ve taught every grade Pre-K through 3rd. However, kindergarten is very near and dear to my heart!
I feel extremely lucky to not only teach in Superior, but to live in Superior as well. My husband, Patrick, works at Level 3 in Broomfield. We have two daughters, Emily and Sara, both students here at Superior Elementary. When we are not in school, we keep busy riding bikes and scooters, as well as taking walks around the neighborhood, and skiing in the winter. We feel lucky to live in such a beautiful place with a great community feel!
