My experience includes teaching 2nd grade in Massachusetts, talented and gifted students of all ages in Denver, and implementing whole-child education here in Boulder. I am looking forward to bringing everything I have learned from these varied experiences to Whittier this year, as I learn about 3rd graders and the IB program! I recently completed my ESL endorsement and have my Masters in Bilingual and Multicultural Education. |

| Outside of school I enjoy singing, playing the piano, cooking, and playing soccer and softball. I am originally from Oregon, so I also enjoy visiting the Oregon coast and my family in Portland at least once a year. |

My experience includes teaching refugee newcomer students in Denver, Colorado as well as foreign volunteer teaching in Tanzania and Mexico. My master’s degree is in multicultural and bilingual education with an emphasis in linguistically diverse education, which is a fancy way of saying that I have obtained an ESL endorsement. I am looking forward to becoming reacquainted with Whittier and the IB program, as I was a student teacher with Cathy Hill in the 2nd grade in 2007.

I believe my strengths are in my love and desire to inquire and learn. When I set my mind to something, I make it happen. My current focus is on applying everything that I have gained thus far in my teaching career to my new position working with 3rd graders and the IB program.
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my partner (Matt) and our two dogs (Benny & Zuri). I also enjoy spending time with my family, here in Boulder and at home in Michigan. Lastly, I am an active person who loves yoga and downhill skiing! |
