I was actually born and raised in Boulder (on Spruce street to be exact). I moved to Portland, Oregon for college, and stayed for ten years. While there, I got my masters in teaching, taught Spanish for one year, and fourth grade for two years. I also taught for a year in Mexico, and have lived in Spain, Chile, and the Dominican Republic. I returned to Boulder and worked for two years as an ELL (ESL) teacher in Northglenn. Now I'm back to my home neighborhood again in fourth grade and loving it!

My number one goal in the classroom is to provide an environment where children feel safe, enjoy learning and feel good about themselves. My passions for Spanish and different cultures also seem to fit in very well around here. Out of school, I enjoy growing and cooking local food, singing in the rain, and riding my bike to work.

Our 4th grade team collaborates on many levels - planning units together, bouncing new ideas off each other and sharing classroom successes. We feel it is beneficial for all 4th graders to have the opportunity to work with both teachers, so we trade classes for some lessons and during math and reading, students are split between our classrooms based on skill level. Although we work closely together, our team is flexible and allows teachers to teach to their strengths and interests.
