Gaining Perspective on Global Issues

An international school helps a student look through the eyes of all countries and all cultures. It strives to develop an international person -- curious about the world, being critical and creative when looking at complex problems, being open-minded and respectful of views, values, and traditions of others, actively seeking and considering a wide range of ideas, while being caring and principled. We explore ways to help students a more equitable society so that peace among nations will be stable.

Here are a few of the issues students in an international school might be learning about and discussing:

Education and the Rise of the Global Economy by Joel Spring: Lawrence Erlbaum Assoc. 1998

Multicultural Education: Rebecca S. Bowers and S. Rex Morrow. Old Dominion University

Washington Post International News - keep up-to-date on the latest global happenings.

World Trade Organization

International Simulations

AIESEC - L'Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commercial

Anti-Internationalism in America Today (April 11, 1996) Sponsored by the Carnegie Council and the World Policy Institute.

American Forum for Global Education
