| Welcome
to Whittier International School
Where the world meets in the heart
of Boulder
Presently attended by children from
29 different countries, speaking 19 different languages.
Built in 1882, Whittier is a designated
Historic Landmark, Colorado's oldest continuously operating school.
The original Pine Street School was renamed for poet John Greenleaf
Whittier, after he wrote back to student Effie Titus, an early Boulder
6th grader, who was in love with his poem, "Snowbound."
The
vision for Whittier International is to use our creativity, enthusiasm,
and empathy to inspire and empower students in becoming confident,
respectful, and inquiring global citizens. |

The
Boulder Valley School District partners with community schools to offer
a half-day optional, fee-based childcare program (K-CARE) in addition to
the half-day kindergarten program. K-CARE
is available in elementary schools for kindergartners needing care for the
rest of the school day. K-CARE compliments the school programs and is consistent
with the guidelines of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
If you are interested in this service, you can sign-up at the school office.
