Manet Still Life's: Students studied artist Edouard Manet and his beautiful still life's. Students then used a combination of watercolor, tempera paints, and oil pastels to create their own still life!

Paul Klee Printmaking Portraits: Students studied the paintings of Abstract Artist Paul Klee and his use of lines and shapes. We discussed how to use these lines, and geometric shapes in order for the students to create their own portrait. Then students drew their image onto a foam, which we inked and made prints from.

Take a look at the kindergartners printmaking for the first time! Students studied Paul Klee and created geometric portraits for their prints.

Henri Rousseau Jungle Drawings: Students studied artist Henri Rousseau and his jungle paintings. We practiced drawing our own jungles and then colored them in with oil pastels. We finished them by glueing animal print borders on the edges!

We began this lesson by reading Maya Angelou's book "My Painted House, My Friendly Chicken, and Me" based on a family's life in Africa. We then discussed symmetry and color mixing which led us to create our own African painted houses just like in the book!
