Whittier PTA Fundraisers
Whittier's
Annual Pledge Drive
- WHEN DOES IT HAPPEN? Whittiers
annual pledge drive begins in the fall every school year.
- HOW DOES IT WORK? Parents, community
members and local businesses are mailed pledge letters with return stamped
envelopes to mail in their pledge. Look for your pledge letter in the
mail!
- WANT TO HELP WITH THE PLEDGE DRIVE?
Amy Britton is in charge of Whittiers annual pledge drive. If
you would like to help with stuffing envelopes, contacting businesses,
or getting the word out, please contact Amy.
Grocery
Certificates
- WHAT ARE GROCERY CERTIFICATES? Grocery
certifications are sold by the school to use for your grocery purchases.
You buy $25 worth of coupons at the school and get $25 worth of groceries
at your grocery store.
- WHY BUY THEM? For every dollar spent,
the grocery store donates 3% to the school. This way we can fund IB
efforts, assemblies and special events.
- HOW DO I USE THEM? Buy the coupons through
the school, use the coupons like cash at the grocery store. Safeway,
King Soopers, and Wild Oats participate in this program.
- WHERE DO I BUY THEM? The main office
has coupons for sale. Look for them at special events.
- HOW CAN I HELP? Every week or month
bring a check or some cash and buy grocery coupons OR volunteer to sell
certificates once a month or at special school functions.
TARGET
CARD
- SHOP AT TARGET? If you use a Target
credit card, you can sign up for Whittier so that the school automatically
receives a percentage of your purchases.
ESCRIP
- WHAT IS ESCRIPT? Electronic Scrip Incorporated
(ESI) is a California-based corporation dedicated to establishing relationships
between commerce and community -- to provide resources to organizations
and projects that support children. It donates a percentage of your
purchases on a credit card or loyalty card (with participating stores)
to the school or organization of your choice.
- HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. You register any one or all of your existing grocery loyalty, debit
and credit cards for use in the program at http://www.escrip.com/.
2. Participating merchants will make contributions to your chosen group,
based on purchases made by you, just by using the cards you have registered.
3. Your purchases are tracked and available to you online, allowing
you to see just how much you are earning on your child's behalf!
OTHER
- Albertsons & 30th Street Market
Community Partners cards are available. Just present the card when you
make purchases and the store will donate dollars to Whittier. (Look
for the card in your registration packet.)
