Whittier’s Chess Club

Our primary focus is to provide an environment and materials for kids to enjoy the fun and benefits of chess. We have boards and pieces for them to play with in a quiet environment and at least one chess knowledgeable adult at every club meeting to help answer questions and provide some instruction and encouragement.

The primary emphasis will be on letting the kids play chess. We will also provide some instruction during the club sessions, especially for those who are new to the game.

The Chess Club meets every Friday from 11:15 AM -12:15 PM in the Whittier Library. All students are welcome.

The Whittier Chess Club sponsors chess tournaments throughout the school year. Look for announcements about the tournaments.
